Setting up a staff view as gospel is an old Washington game. But here it leaves out Bessent’s denials, as well as the view of the “accord” inventor that it’s not a thing and wouldn’t happen.

The bottom line is one I’ve been writing and talking about for half a year now but ignored by markets: the economic policy urgency is driven by geopolitical urgency. Getting the economy roaring through tax cuts and deregulation, plus fixing manufacturing to solve the defense industrial base problem, plus energy ‘dominance’, is needed to put the U.S. in the strongest position with the most leverage to deal with the PRC and client/proxy conflicts.
